The Australian series, by Jonathan M. Shiff is a spin-off of the popular youth series „H2O: Just Add Water“. The series, consisting of 3 seasons, first aired in 2013. It is about the mermaids Sirena, Nixie and Lyla, or from season three Sirena, Ondina, Mimmi and Weilan and the merman Zac Blakely. At the beginning, Sirena, Nixie and Layla accidentally turn Zac into a merman. To take away his powers, they have to try to live a normal life on land, but this turns out to be harder than they thought. From then on, exciting adventures in the sea and on land begin. The series is set on the Australian Gold Coast and is characterized primarily by the moon lake of Mako Island, a fictional volcanic island that already played a central role in H2O.
