Eiichiro Oda, the writer of One Piece, was born 1975 in Kumamoto, Japan.
At an early age of four he was highly fascinated by the arts of drawing mangas. Only thirteen years later he celebrated the success of his own short stories and won the 44th “Tezuka Award”. He left school and moved to Tokyo where he worked as Nobuhiru Watsuki’s right hand.
Romance Dawn marked the very beginning of One Piece. One Piece made its debut 1997 in the Weekly Jump issue 34 and soon became the magazine’s leading force.
The most powerful and most dreaded pirate king of all times, Gold Roger, was famous for world’s most valuable treasure - called One Piece. He kept its hiding place secret till his death. Ever since, adventurers have gone to sea and searched for hints to the whereabouts of One Piece. The boy called Monkey D. Ruffy also sets out to hunt world’s greatest treasure. The thief Nami, pirate hunter Lorenor Zorro, Lysop the liar, the cook Sanji and Chopper the reindeer accompany Ruffy along his adventurous journey.
Will they be able to find One Piece?
Up to now, two movies have already been release in Japan.
RTL II acquired the TV broadcasting rights on One Piece for Germany.
