Bernard the Bear (in the original: "The Adventures of Bernard") is a French animated television series that first aired in 2006. It is about a bear named Bernard who lives in a modern city and is always involved in new adventures there. The episodes are rather short, about seven minutes, and consist of several short stories. The action is mostly silent and very little dialogue is used. Therefore, the stories are told through visuals and the sounds of each character.

Bernard is a rather awkward bear, with a big heart. He often gets into trouble, but always tries to do the right thing. In each episode, Bernard tries to overcome different challenges, such as stealing a picnic, escaping a plane crash or fighting an ant army.
