H2O – The concept
H2O is a teenage adventure drama revolving around the question how to stay “normal” when you are part-time mermaid! – Three teen girls suddenly realize that contact with water gives them magical powers. Cleo, Emma, and Rikki are three totally different 16-year-old girls coming of age. But since when does coming of age involve turning into mermaids and developing strange powers? Life changed profoundly for the three teenage girls, but they learn more about themselves, and the power of friendship …

H2O - Story
Growing up on the sunny beaches of North Australia makes you cool and relaxed – nothing ever stresses you out. The girls’ daily life revolves around fashion, the beach and boys – and not to forget school as a minor distraction. Until one day a wild boat trip overnight has unimagined consequences…

The next day, when Emma goes to the pool to train her swimming technique like she does every morning, she is the first to discover a mysterious change – contact with water makes her grow a fish tail. And also the other two experience this strange phenomenon: Cleo in the shower and Rikki thanks to a lawn sprinkler. It soon becomes apparent that they have just ten seconds between getting wet and towelling dry before they grow fish tails…

... As if that was not surprise enough, they discover additional powers while experimenting. Emma – the natural leader – can freeze water by pointing at it. Self-conscious Cleo can control its shape and volume. And Rikki – the edgy outsider – is able to boil water with only a small gesture. At first the girls are afraid – but after getting used to the changes, they realize that they are now able to do things no other people can do. Their life suddenly has a wonderful new dimension …
