Dragonball is a manga series created by Japanese artist Akira Toriyama and had originally been published in a manga magazine. 42 manga books emerged from the original serials. Today, more than 250 million books have been sold worldwide, 6 million in Germany alone.
Later, the stories have been adopted for an anime TV series. The great worldwide success resulted in three TV series, 17 theatrical films, two TV films and numerous video games. Toei Animations, world-market leader for anime shows, produced all shows and films.
