The French adventure trilogy about Arthur and the Invisibles was made by Luc Besson in 2006. The film combines real film and computer animation with 5 years of work and state-of-the-art 3D effects, this film was one of the most expensive animated films in Europe and thus drew millions of young and old fans into its fairytale-like spell. In the first part of the trilogy, Arthur tries to save his grandmother's property from being sold to a nasty real estate shark. To do this, he must find his grandfather's missing treasure, which is buried deep in the land of the tiny Minimoys. To reach the kingdom under the earth, Arthur also shrinks. Together with the beautiful Princess Selenia and her brother Beta, Athur sets off on a race against time. But not only is time running out, on their way to find the hidden treasure they have to enter the realm of the devious tyrant Maltazard, of all people.
