Description:
Who broke the Kangaroo’s hand? Who repainted the giraffe? Who tied a knot in the tiger’s tail? Who saw off the elephant’s tusks? Who tied up the Octopus? Sherlock Yack investigates these and other exciting cases in the children’s show of the same name. As World’s First and Only Zoo Detective he investigates, wonders, and puzzles until he solves all major cases that occur in his zoo. In close cooperation with hit producer Mondo TV ZDF developed an exciting new animated show for the very young. Based on the seven popular “Sherlock Yack” children’s books published in French-speaking territories, they produced a new show that allows young viewers some insight into the exciting world and everyday life of Sherlock Yack.
Sherlock Yack is the zoo’s manager as well as its detective. And he always does his best to keep things nice and easy around the zoo. As soon as a crime is committed, he investigates until he finds the solution. Armed with his magnifier and unerring instinct Sherlock Yack finds clues, presents theories, unmasks liars and identifies the culprit. A combination of great intellect and reason help Sherlock Yack to get to the bottom of every mystery. The yak’s intuition may be great, but even he isn’t without failure, as vanity, presumption and sensitivity sometimes cloud his judgement. In addition he is often overly hurt, e.g. if someone criticises his way of playing the bagpipes. However, is there any great hero without a fault?
On his hunt for suspects and culprits Sherlock Yack is always accompanied by lively little reporter Hermione. His small assistant is full of verve and tries to help solving the case. In each episode, she personifies the young viewers of the series: curious, observing and always asking questions. She admires Sherlock’s instincts, intellect, his braveness and cleverness – but she’s a straight-talker when it comes to criticizing him.
