Swedish Casino Software Developer Net Entertainment to Launch Online Video Slot Game Based on the Classic Universal Monsters Franchise

Plus Licens announced a Frankenstein video slot game based on the classic Universal Monsters franchise that will launch online June 30, 2011. The announcement follows an agreement negotiated by Plus Licens, on behalf of Universal Partnerships & Licensing, with Net Entertainment – a premium supplier of digitally distributed gaming systems used by some of the world’s most successful and prominent online gaming operators. The first branded online video slot game developed by Net Entertainment in cooperation with Universal, Frankenstein gives players an unforgettable game experience and takes the world of online gaming to new dimensions. Additional online games from Net Entertainment based on Universal Monsters are planned.

The classic horror tale of Frankenstein comes to life in an electrifying 5-reel, 20-line video slot. The “Burning Mill” Free Spins feature is visually based on the climactic end scene of the original Frankenstein movie from 1931 starring Boris Karloff. The Frankenstein video slot from Net Entertainment also represents the first ever use of Linked Wild™ wins in a game, keeping players in a heightened state of suspense. Lightning Wilds, in the main game, regularly ignite two or more nearby symbols turning them into extra wild symbols for a chance at additional substitution wins.

“We are happy and proud to be part of this innovative use of the classic Universal franchise,” said Ylva Svensson, Category Manager at Plus Licens. “It is impressive how Net Entertainment has been able to capture the mood and graphics of the original black-and-white silent film while still keeping the franchise relevant and up-to-date for today’s gaming audience.”

“As the online gaming market matures, greater demands are being placed on product offerings in terms of complexity, entertainment value and availability,” said Claes Tellman, Communications Director at Net Entertainment. “Frankenstein is further proof of the innovative and creative thinking going into Net Entertainment games.”
