Invizimals™ and EyePet® are making their mark in Europe

Leading rights management company Target Entertainment is further expanding the licensing programmes for PlayStation® IPs (Intellectual Properties) signing new deals for Invizimals™ and rolling out EyePet® across Europe.

Invizimals is already on its way to becoming a huge licensing success for Target across Europe. With licensing partner Panini launching a range of products including trading cards, stickers and albums in January 2011, sticker sales have already exceeded 6 million units in Spain and Portugal alone.

The products are licensed to Panini in Spain and Portugal by Target’s sub-agent BRB Internacional, in Italy by The Licensing Factory and in France by MJA Licensing. Target has also signed a deal directly with Panini for the UK and the rest of Europe. Other recent appointments include Safta S.A. for stationery and back to school, Comansi for mini figurines in Spain and Portugal and Edibas collections for trading card games and figurines in Italy.

Aimed at boys and girls aged 7+, Invizimals for PSP™(PlayStation®Portable) lets kids discover a hidden world of monsters within the real world. Utilising the PSP camera, and augmented reality gameplay, children can hunt and capture up to 120 invisible monsters in the real world. Once captured, they can train and evolve their monsters before pitting them against each other in battle either online or with friends.

Target has also secured a multi-territory plush deal for EyePet with UK-based IGS Corporation. The two companies already work together on other PlayStation® brands including LittleBigPlanet™, Ratchet and Clank® and Buzz!™.

The initial ranges of plush key chains, beanies, large plush, animated plush and sound-activated plush will roll-out across Europe from October 2011 and will be available through IGS’s gaming purpose website www.gameonstuff.com.

EyePet was released in 2009, introducing the world to the lovable pet that comes alive in your living room using the power of PlayStation® 3 (PS3™), the PlayStation®Move motion controller and the PlayStation®Eye camera.

Helen Howells at Target Entertainment says: "Children have really taken the brand to their hearts and we’re thrilled by the incredible consumer take-up of Invizimals across Europe. Will this be the next big boys’ action brand? If current sales are anything to go by we definitely think so. We’re also really excited about bringing EyePet to new audiences beyond the game through the IGS range of collectible plush toys.”
