Nickelodeon Consumer Products International Launches Victorious Branded
Consumer Electronics Line Internationally With Sakar International

Nickelodeon Consumer Products International, part of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), has agreed a new deal with New Jersey-based consumer electronics retailer, Sakar that will see a branded consumer electronics line inspired by Nickelodeon’s hottest live action series, Victorious, launch internationally for the first time. Announced today by Michael Connolly, Head of Consumer Products, VIMN at BLE (Brand Licensing Europe), the two-year agreement will run until the end of December 2013 and covers all regions including Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

The extensive Victorious range will comprise the same products internationally as for the US and will be aimed primarily at girls aged 6-11. Included for retail are digital/video cameras and accessories, portable DVD players, digital keychain photo frames, clock radios, MP3/MP4 players, CD players and boomboxes, karaoke machines and other youth electronics devices. Also on sale will be a range of computer accessories, iPhone and iPod kits and speaker docs as well as headphones and video game accessories.

Products will now be available across major European markets including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland/Eire, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and also further afield in Australia, Canada and Mexico.

The Victorious range will be available in mass market toy shops and department stores, specialty toy stores, office supply retail outlets, convenience stores, electronics stores, pharmacies and video game stores.

Top rated series Victorious, which follows aspiring singer Tori Vega at her performing arts school and features rising teen star Victoria Justice, is the latest Sony Music partnered live action show to launch a consumer products programme. Its addictive combination of singing, dancing and acting, plus inspirational fashion, seamlessly translate into trend-driven merchandise. The show has quickly become a huge success for Nickelodeon since its debut in 2010, becoming Nick US’ second-biggest live-action series ever and a ratings sensation around the world both across Nickelodeon’s international channel network and through syndicated broadcast partnerships in key markets such as Brazil (Globosat), France (TF1), Italy (RAI), Mexico (Televisa), New Zealand (FOUR) and Spain (TVE). An extensive consumer products programme will roll out from Autumn 2011 in the US and Canada, followed in 2012 by France, Spain, Italy, Benelux, GAS, Australia, the UK, Mexico, Brazil and Korea.
