BRANDORA Editorial Staff - January 2014

miPR, the entertainment, licensing and merchandising PR experts today announces the launch of its new Licensing Agency division, miLicensing. miLicensing will operate as a standalone business, acting as a Licensing Agent across Music, Toy & Entertainment industries.

miLicensing will be overseen by miPR managing director, Kirsty Barr, with day to day operations run by Jonathan Rose, Group Commercial Director, who was appointed to the business to create strategies to support the businesses’ growth over the next five years and beyond. To enhance the existing in-house expertise, miLicensing has brought in renowned Licensing consultant Michael Gottlieb as Licensing Director.

The new division joins the current miPR group which encompasses miPR, which remains the core lynchpin of the business; miEvents, (acquired in 2013) which fully activates and supports retail shopping centre events; and miPRGlobal, its international PR business. Kirsty Barr saw further opportunity to harness the extensive licensing expertise within the organisation and create a standalone Licensing business, acting as Licensing Agents for Intellectual Property owners and Licensors.

Kirsty Barr, Managing Director, miPR, explains, “We believe miLicensing is the next natural step for our business and supports our 360º approach strategy. The new division is designed to offer cross collaboration for our clients and to add wider value to our client offering as well as creating licensing opportunities with new clients and retailers. PR will always remain at the heart of our business, my roots are in PR and mi-team will continue to delight our current and future clients with creative and results-driven PR campaigns. It does mean our clients can now benefit from our wider range of services that have naturally developed through our growing relationships within the licensing industry”.

Michael Gottlieb, Licensing Director, who has previously managed such brands as Warner Bros ‘Batman’, Looney Tunes, Richard Hammond’s Blast Lab, Donny Osmond and Sooty & Sweep, added, “I am absolutely delighted to join Kirsty and Jonathan in this exciting new venture. miLicensing has an unrivalled approach, fabulous new licences, both existing and upcoming, with many new deals to be announced”. Michael Gotlieb has also carved out a niche turning songs into brands to be used on consumer products, winning licensing awards for campaigns with Mothercare and Sainsbury’s.
