Other Criteria and Marc Jacobs International announce the release of a limited edition t-shirt produced as a collaboration between Marc Jacobs and artist Damien Hirst. The t-shirt features the artwork of Hirst’s unique representation of Mickey Mouse, using his characteristic spot motif to interpret one of Disney’s most loved characters.

For Jacobs, the collaboration marks the continuation of the designer’s near life long affection for the Disney icon. And Damien Hirst comments, "Mickey Mouse represents happiness and the joy of being a kid. I have reduced his shape down to the basic elements of a few simple spots and I hope people love it, because it is still instantly recognizable - Mickey is such a universal and powerful icon."

The limited edition t-shirt is available exclusively from Other Criteria and Marc Jacobs with 2500 units available in white and black. The shirt is available in both adult and children’s sizes and will retail for $98.00 and $58.00, respectively.

All proceeds will be donated to Kids Company, a UK charity Hirst has long supported. Based in London and established in 1996, Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people. In Christie’s February 2014 auction in London, the original artwork (on which the t-shirt is based) sold for $1.5m also to benefit Kids Company.

According to Kids Company Founder & CEO Camila Batmanghelidjh , "Children who have been maltreated often fantasize about magical characters coming to rescue them. So you can imagine their delight when we told them that the t-shirts feature one of their favorite animated characters. We all jumped with joy!"

The t-shirt is available in Marc Jacobs stores across the US, UK & EU.
