The Inn of Tiefen Thal requires even more playful business sense

How do you become the most successful innkeeper in town? Players have been looking for an answer to this question in "The Inn of Tiefen Thal" since 2019. With strategic dice rolling and clever card laying, they want to run the most lucrative tavern in Tiefenthal. But the demands of the guests are increasing and it is no longer enough to just offer good beer on solid bar stools. With creative business ideas, good contacts and cleverly used skills, the innkeepers therefore upgrade their own tavern to an inn in the first expansion to the basic game - and try to be more successful than their fellow players.

About two years after Schmidt Spiele launched the dice-insert-and-card-deck expansion game "The Inn of Tiefen Thal" by Wolfgang Warsch, the first expansion follows. With "The Inn of Tiefen Thal", the demands on the two to four players aged 12 and up, who slip into the role of innkeepers, increase. Not only do they have to set up a tavern, find the right staff and fulfill the guests' drink and seating requests every evening. Due to the economically strained situation in Tiefenthal, they have to prove even more business sense and earn more doubloons with sensible investments - especially more than the competition. In each game, the players have the joint choice of the direction in which they would like to develop the taverns. Should the menu be expanded to include wine - with a suitable wine cellar and sommelier - or should the nobles be offered overnight stays from now on? Do you try to help the mayor with some orders or do you prefer to use your own skills even better? Four modules are available to the players for the four scenarios, which can also be combined as desired - as well as with the modules from the basic game. Once the group has agreed on the modules, the corresponding preparations are made, for example, the expansion of the taverns with guest rooms, and the game can begin. First, each player builds his own inn. This is filled by drawing cards with various guests and employees. Now comes life into the tavern and the time to earn money. To do this, the players roll the dice, continue to use the dice strategically and gradually expand their deck of cards to earn doubloons. The player who manages to do this more successfully than the other innkeepers wins the game.

The expansion "The Inn of Tiefen Thal" can only be played together with "The Inn of Tiefen Thal" and contains, in addition to the modules, additional nobles that can be integrated into the basic game.
