Hasbro SA, based in Delémont Switzerland, manufactures and sells Hasbro toy and games products around the world. Hasbro European Trading BV ('HET') is Hasbro SA’s distributor in Europe, which sells to Hasbro SA’s customers in all major European countries. Hasbro International Trading BV ('HIT') is Hasbro SA's distributor for FOB sales in Europe Hasbro Deutschland GmbH ('the Company') provides sales, marketing and other services to HET and HIT in Germany.

Purpose:

The Product Development Specialist will help drive Creative strategy between Hasbro and our licensee’s through the region driving best in class execution of our products. This specialist will ensure licensee compliance with IP sensitive assets, manage product approvals across multiple categories, communicate creative direction in line with key strategic business goals and brand creative direction. The specialist will work to confirm commercial requirements and timelines are achieved.

Tasks:

  • Work hand in hand with licensees managing creative output, ensuring product innovation, brand consistency and compelling execution within a Commercial context.
  • Train new and existing licensees in the use of Hasbro’s creative assets and approval systems.
  • Manage approval processes, making sure all product development is routed through Hasbro’s Approval system Brainbase as per global product integrity guidelines.
  • Manage the physical review of samples as well as cataloging and inventory of all samples for future needs of tradeshow, sales meetings and other PR opportunities.
  • Capture trend and retail research, share and apply - to maintain an up to date knowledge of competitive landscape, product, price and retail trends for the market.
  • Play an active part in the wider creative community locally, regionally and globally.
  • Act as a “brand ambassador” alongside the Commercial team.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in product development/design or marketing/management or valid experience
  • Demonstrable, significant professional experience working as part of a creative/commercial team in a related field.
  • Knowledge of product development, manufacturing / tooling processes and product approval process.
  • Advance knowledge of Mac OSX, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work across numerous product categories
  • Previous experience in design, merchandising or licensing industry a required.
  • Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with various stakeholders across functions/countries.
  • Confident and effective communicating and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Independent, proactive, and organized self-starter who thinks out of the box for solutions from multi-perspective.
  • Comfortable working remotely and as part of a wider team.
  • Able to use in-design/illustrator for design use.
