Oxford Strengthens Licensing Team

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - February 2011

Oxford Limited, the licensors for the official Oxford University brand, has made two new appointments to its core licensing team. The positions of Licensing & Brand Manager and Head of Operations will help drive the development and scope of the Oxford University brand and its licensing programme.

During her seven years at Energy PR, Hannah Aspey gained a wealth of licensing experience working with the Copyrights Group and Twentieth Century Fox, Wesco and James Galt as well as the Kazachok International Licensing Forum and the Toy Industry Association of North America (TIA). Hannah joins Oxford Limited in the role of Brand & Licensing Manager and will be responsible for the management of the many aspects of the global licensing programme as well as the PR and marketing of the brand and its established retail channels – the OU shop in Oxford and the ecommerce site.

Joining as Head of Operations, Emily Withers brings valuable insight and knowledge of Oxford University itself. An alumnus of Wadham College, Emily understands the ‘Oxford’ experience first-hand. Her professional roles at two of the University’s best known institutions, the Bodleian Library and the Ashmolean Museum, also enabled Emily to develop her University network further. Combined, Emily’s experience will be a great advantage in the development of existing and new relationships across the university, which in turn will allow both licensees, the individual colleges, institutions and sports clubs of the university, to access the full potential of the brand.

Chris Evans MD of Oxford Limited commented: “These two appointments are key to the strategic development of the Oxford University brand globally. Both Hannah and Emily bring a tailor-made set of skills and experience to their new roles which will greatly benefit the licensing programme and contribute to its expansion and future success.”

Representing the Oxford University brand for the UK and Europe, Robert Burstein of Performance Brands commented: “Performance Brands are delighted to be working on licensing development for Oxford University and we look forward to working with Hannah and Emily to bring a successful licensing programme to fruition.”

Other licensing agents representing the Oxford University brand include Asiana (Korea), Interasia (China / South East Asia), and Stone America.
