Biggest-ever event sees increase in international delegates

The 12th annual KidScreen Summit drew a crowd of just over 1,500 kids entertainment professionals, representing a 10% increase in attendance. More than 300 kids television buyers participated, alongside 875 content producers and distributors. The annual event continues to attract more and more attendees from overseas—this year, 68% of delegates came from outside the US.

KidScreen Summit 2011 had greater participation from European companies in general (7% up from last year) and welcomed its biggest-ever group from Brazil, numbering 67 delegates. Attendance from Spain, Sweden and Mexico more than doubled this year, and numbers from the UK and France were both up by significant double-digits this year (30% and 20%, respectively), contributing to the Summit’s overall growth.

The year’s most critical event for the global kids entertainment industry expanded to run over four days instead of three this year, a change triggered by direct feedback from delegates wanting to achieve a better balance between business meetings and the Summit’s outstanding conference program of more than 40 keynotes, panel discussions, presentations, master classes and networking sessions—all featuring the industry’s most respected thought-leaders and pioneers.

“The move to a four-day format was an unparalleled success,” says KidScreen VP & Publisher Jocelyn Christie. “Our sessions drew bigger crowds than ever before, and the Nickelodeon Delegates Lounge was packed right up until the end of the event. And feedback on the ground indicated a healthy amount of business being done there.”

KidScreen Summit’s unique positioning as part-conference-part-market offers its attendees the opportunity to customize their event experience to suit their goals and priorities. Featuring the year’s best networking and best professional development opportunities, the Summit is the perfect place to learn about the latest trends, issues and opportunities and connect with the industry’s top decision-makers.

The location and dates for KidScreen Summit 2012 will be announced in a separate release to come shortly.
