Mr. Men introduce a sparkling new royal character to mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic children’s character books

The ever-popular Mr. Men books will mark their 40th anniversary with the timely introduction of a glamorous new regal character, Little Miss Princess. The Little Miss Princess character stars in two brand new books, Little Miss Princess and Little Miss Princess and the Very Special Wedding.

Little Miss Princess will go on sale on the 7th March and Little Miss Princess and the Very Special Wedding colouring and sticker storybook will be in stores from the 4th April, a few weeks before the royal wedding itself.

Little Miss Princess is the 34th book in the popular Mr. Men series, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and is the first new Little Miss since 2003, when Little Miss Whoops was published.

In Little Miss Princess, a kind-hearted princess attempts to help her fellow Little Miss and Mr. Men friends with their chores, and the challenges she faces as she has never had to do things herself.

Little Miss Princess and the Very Special Wedding follows Little Miss Princess’ attempts to get to an important wedding on time, but is hindered by Mr. Men mishaps along the way.

To date, over 100 million Mr. Men and Little Miss books have been sold worldwide and over three million Mr. Men and Little Miss books are sold every year.

Adam Hargreaves, writer and illustrator of the Mr. Men and Little Miss books said: “I thoroughly enjoyed creating Little Miss Princess and writing such fun stories for her. She’s an inspirational and fun character that girls of all ages will connect with. Of course I am hopeful that this will also put me in good stead to pen the next royal biography!”

David Riley, Managing Director of Egmont Publishing Group said: “Commissioned in spring last year, we are delighted to be publishing this new Little Miss character in such a significant year. We look forward to celebrating both the Mr. Men’s 40th anniversary and the Royal Wedding with our two Little Miss Princess titles. She is an endearing addition to the classic collection who will charm readers of all ages.”
