2011 Day of Licenses - LIMA Germany stays on the road to success

LIMA Germany - March 2011

In 2011 LIMA Germany once more provides a successful start into the upcoming season: The “Day of Licenses” on 15 March 2011 was fully booked. From early in the morning till late in the afternoon licensees and agencies introduced about 100 national and international licensed properties to an audience of top class experts. An real pleasure after this year’s long winter: Participants were able to enjoy the spring sun while taking coffee breaks and lunch in the outdoor area of the Rheinterrassen in Cologne. Final highlight to a long day full of inspiration: The LIMA Spring Festival 2011 at the Restaurant Wolkenburg was attended by more than 400 LIMA members.

“The overall feedback to the Day of Licenses was extremely positive”, said Heike Winner, managing director, LIMA GERMANY, after a long day’s work on her way to the LIMA Spring Festival in the wonderful atmosphere of the impressive Restaurant Wolkenburg. “In addition to the presentations our members and guests first of all appreciate the fact that major players from all areas of licensing attend the event.” That’s what LIMA Germany always aims at: To create an industry event that is not only informative and inspiring, but provides the ideal background to initiate new business deals. To great success: Licensors and agencies as well as retail partner including representatives from KiK, Rewe, real, Toys R US, Ernsting‘s Family, Rossmann, Tacco, Autobahn Tank und Rast, Tedi, Spiele Max, idee + spiel, Vedes amongst others came at LIMA Germany’s invitation and added to a perfect visitor profile. Doris Berlemann, Ernsting‘s Family, appreciated the opportunity to meet agents and licensors: “The Day of Licenses is a top class forum for national licensing professionals and a beneficial event for retail partners as well. We come here to learn about latest trend properties and have the opportunity to approach existing and potential cooperation partners.”

At this year’s Day of Licenses 26 licensors and agencies introduced their strongest properties, latest innovations and successful promotion and marketing campaigns to national and international properties from brands, characters, TV, movies, celebrities and sports.

LIMA Germany campaigns for the licensing industry
Although highly informative and tailor-made to forge new business links, both LIMA Germany events benefit from a friendly, family-like atmosphere. People meet, get to know each other, recognize familiar faces and meet again. “Positive feedback shows that both LIMA events perfectly meet the demands of members and business professionals“, said Peter Boder, member of the LIMA advisory committee and CEO of United Labels. “We are thrilled by our success. And we are happy to see the Day of Licenses has been internationally accepted as an event that sets new standards. Today the German Day of Licenses took place for the eighth time in a row and several other countries are interested in organizing their own national “Day of Licenses.” Besides their major industry events “Day of Licenses” and “Licensing Market”, LIMA Germany provides many other advantages for affiliated companies: For LIMA members, the Icon Kids report is available at favourable conditions. The major industry report evaluates the potential of licenses on European key markets and portrays different properties in France, the UK and Germany.

Also in 2011 the LIMA business events and other important LIMA activities owe their continuous success mostly to the dedication of their renowned sponsors: A big thanks to SevenOne AdFactoryS, Ehapa, Fipo Group, Nickelodeon, United Labels, Super RTL, TV Mania, Turner and ZDF Enterprises for their generous support.
