Geronimo Stilton is the latest book series to join the newspapers’ campaign to bring top titles to the children of Argentina at an affordable price, joining such series as Barbie Princes, Ben 10 and books from celebrated Argentinian author Maria Elena Wals. La Nación, which ranks as the #2 newspaper in Argentina with a daily circulation of 125,000, has budgeted US$125,000 for marketing and advertising for the Geronimo Stilton promotion, including a TV spot that will be broadcast over a 10-day period. “We are thrilled to bring Italy’s most famous mouse-author to even more young readers in Argentina, where Geronimo Stilton has already sold more than 30 titles. It is especially gratifying to be a part of La Nación’s continued efforts to bring children entertaining literature that will ignite and fuel their interest in reading,” said Marta Bueno, Director of the Children and Young Adult Department of Editorial Planeta, in Spain. Launched in 2000 by leading Italian publisher Edizioni Piemme through a series of children’s books, Geronimo Stilton is a famous Mouse-author cum-newspaper editor who writes amusing adventures steeped in suspense and healthy values for children the world over. The simple format of Geronimo’s books – excitement, adventure and humor – made them an immediate hit. Today, publishing rights to the Geronimo Stilton series have been sold to many of the world’s most prestigious publishing houses. The books have been translated into 34 languages and distributed. |
