Hari’s World builds on UK success with expansion into new markets

The team behind the Hari’s World brand has announced that the range is moving to new markets across Europe.

The property stars lovable elephant Hari and is both colourful and great fun, as well as carrying a subtle message about how children can avoid unintended injury. In the UK three books and a fantastic plush range from Dowman Soft Touch are already available in retail outlets across the country, including gift shops, garden centres and major animal attractions, and discussions are also well under way with a string of major high street retailers who are interested in stocking the products.

Embracing the success of the UK market, Dowman Soft Touch have seized the initiative with their European Agent Aad Keijzer of ACT International, who is now presenting the Hari’s World range across a buoyant European market. “We are focussing on the same market sectors as we have for the UK and already the feedback of the concept and the character is extremely positive. Hari’s World is a fun brand with a strong message - the issue of care and education of children crosses all language and cultural divisions and there is no question that Hari's World presents a global opportunity!” says Dominic Whittle, managing Director of Dowman Soft Touch.

The Hari’s World team is looking to extend the property across various other sectors and with ten books planned initially, and with new characters introduced through each adventure, the brand has huge potential across categories such as interactive toys, collectables, board games, musical products and interactive games and applications. The aim is to link Hari’s World with products that serve to compliment the brand’s unique image and message.

“We are delighted to be exploring new territories and markets which will boost the ever expanding presence of Hari’s World even further,” says Tristan-Sean McGee, Managing Director of Hari’s World. “The response to Hari’s World at both Spring Fair and Nuremberg was absolutely phenomenal, with a huge amount of interest from licensees and retailers from across the world. The subject that Hari’s World addresses is an international one and that means the property has the potential to grow into a truly global brand.”
