New Portal Features Social Community for Children,

Milan-based Atlantyca Entertainment in partnership with Italian publisher, Edizioni Piemme, has set March 2011 to announce the launch of www.geronimostilton.com, an exciting new online destination for children that is home to Italy’s most famous mouse, Geronimo Stilton; it was announced by Claudia Mazzucco, CEO.

The new portal features a unique assortment of fun Geronimo Stilton-themed games and activities, a social community for children, and a one-stop WINDOW with links to the entire collection of Geronimo Stilton books, animated programs and merchandise.

The initial launch will be introduced in 7 languages to include: English American, Italian, French, Dutch, Flemish, Catalan, Chinese with the support of the following Geronimo’s publishers: Scholastic, Edizioni Piemme Albin Michel, Baeckens Book, De Wakkere Muis, Grup 62, 21 Century Publishing House.

GeronimoStilton.com was created to offer children the opportunity to enter Geronimo Stilton’s world and become a member of his community of mice in order to further enhance the Geronimo Stilton experience for his millions of fans. Every child who visits the portal can build a mouse-avatar and get a street-view experience as they travel through Mouse City, interacting with other Geronimo Stilton friends from around the world. They can even write and post articles in their own customized version of Mouse City’s local newspaper, Mouse Gazette.

Designed as the ultimate online destination for all things Geronimo Stilton, the new portal also features a very safe social community for children where they can communicate directly with the erudite mouse himself, along with any number of his devoted fans who are also online.

“We are excited to invite children into this immersive, 360-degree Geronimo Stilton experience that allows them to participate in his world and share their experiences directly with online friends,” said Mazzucco. “Our objective is to build a site created by children, generated content. On the site, children will be able to draw comics and evaluate books ; activities will include adding individual comments, the exchanging of opinions with Geronimo and finally they can be the real protagonists of their favorite site.”

Made by eBit Innovation, a marketing and web innovation company, and the web creative agency IM*MEDIA under the supervision of Atlantyca web manager Sergio Maramotti, the portal’s marketplace shows children the entire world of books, animated programs and licensed merchandise available from a huge collection of publishers and manufacturers. Many of the print and electronic media products are available for download and links are provided for purchasing toys and licensed merchandise.

The second season of the Geronimo Stilton TV animated series is is currently in production for Fall 2011.Today, publishing rights to the Geronimo Stilton series have been sold to many of the world’s most prestigious publishing houses.
