MTV Networks International Announces Syndication Deals with
France’s TF1, FOUR in New Zealand, Megavision in Chile, Bolivia’s ATB and Fly Distribuzione for RAI in Italy

MTV Networks International (MTVNI), owned by Viacom Inc (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), has signed agreements which will see five international broadcasters air Nickelodeon’s hit live action show, Victorious. Announced today at MIP-TV by Steve Grieder, Executive Senior Vice President, International Programme Sales, MTVNI, the news also marks the first time in several years that France’s TF1 has broadcast live action on its children’s slot, Tfou.

Recently launched for international syndication, Victorious is now airing on France’s terrestrial broadcaster, TF1, as the channel’s premiere live action series. In addition, the number one rating teen-tween comedy is thrilling Italian audiences on the market’s public broadcaster, RAI, through a new agreement with Fly Distribuzione, as well as debuting on New Zealand’s FOUR, and in Latin America through deals with Chile’s Megavision and ATB in Bolivia.

The newly closed agreements build on the instant ratings success of Victorious where it rates number one on Nickelodeon in Australia, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, the UK and the US, and is set to mirror the success of Nickelodeon’s live action show, iCarly, which gained a ratings share of 12.2% soon after launching on Italia Uno in September 2009 and rates as the number one show in the Youth-Series genre on Spain’s TVE, reaching more than +30m individuals across the market*.

“As a long time producer and pioneer of live action programming such as iCarly, Big Time Rush and Drake & Josh, MTVNI is in the incredibly fortunate position of being able to support the current industry trend towards live action content, one of our portfolio’s core drivers,” commented Steve Grieder. “Our clients are looking for top performing programming which travels and resonates with kids no matter where they are. Nickelodeon’s latest hit, Victorious, has it all: comedy, talented acting, wonderful scripts, strong characters and great music, and I’m delighted that we’re able to extend the show to even more audiences around the world through these five strong partnerships.”

Victorious is the newest live action teen-tween series from prolific creator Dan Schneider, of iCarly, Drake and Josh and Zoey 101 fame. Now launching around the world across Nickelodeon’s network of 51 channels, Victorious debuted as the second biggest live-action series in Nickelodeon’s history, second to Big Time Rush. The show follows the story of Tori Vega, played by teen star, Victoria Justice, a teen who unexpectedly finds herself navigating life at the elite performing arts school, Hollywood Arts. With the help of her sister, Trina, and her new friends Beck, Cat and Robbie, Tori soon realises that she was born to perform and that entertaining people not only makes her happy but may change her life. A Victorious-branded consumer products programme will roll out in full around the world from autumn 2012.
