The world’s most famous bee is set to make her debut on stage.

Production company mielke nowak media GmbH, Cologne and Munich’s production and distribution company Studio100 Media GmbH have concluded an agreement to produce a stage show production of Maya the Bee for the German television market. The stage-managed production will be set into action by featuring popular and well-known actors and comedians and will offer fun and exciting entertainment for all the family. Maike Mielke, Managing Director and Ingo Nowak, Executive Producer from mielke nowak media GmbH commented, “With the realization and endorsement of the production of the cult classic Maya stage show a huge dream has been fulfilled for us. We will shortly be presenting in detail our ideas to the TV channels, which we are confident will be well received”.

Children all over the world love the stories of the cheeky Maya the Bee told in the books of Waldemar Bonsels and translated into more than 40 languages. On September 9th, 1976 the animation series premiered in Germany and has since been watched in more than 200 countries. The revived and modernized Maya the Bee in 3D (78 x11’) targeted at two to six year olds is currently in production by Studio 100 Animation S.A.S. in association with TF1 and ZDF, with Studio100 Media GmbH responsible for the international sales and distribution.
