Tetris is announcing the game has now sold 132 million mobile paid downloads. While there have been recent announcements about other titles selling more games, those numbers include both paid and free games. But no title has been able to sell more paid downloads on mobile than Tetris.

At E3, Tetris online will announce the upcoming release of Tetris® for Nintendo 3DS™, set to hit retail shelves in North America this October. Tetris for Nintendo 3DS will allow fans to experience the game like never before – in 3D! Tetris Online, Inc. will be demonstrating the game at Nintendo of America Inc.’s booth (#4922), June 7-9, 2011.

On June 14th at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, Tetris will reveal how it’s expanding into products outside of the traditional computer game. Tetris will have 12 new product categories hitting stores between now and Christmas. Products include board and card games, dice games, wall graphics, t-shirts, mugs, even lottery tickets.

Negotiations are underway for puzzles, Halloween costumes, headwear, accessories, candy and other consumables, watches, slot machines and furniture that nests together like the pieces of the Tetris game.
