Toei Animation has secured major Latin American broadcast deals in Mexico and Colombia for Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Kai, it was announced today by Eduardo Lucio, Senior Sales Manager for Toei Animation.

Cartoon network Latin America has signed as broadcaster across Latin America for episodes 1-54 of Dragon Ball Kai. At the same time, Dragon Ball Kai will make its terrestrial broadcast debut on Televisa (Mexico) this fall.

City TV (Colombia) has licensed twenty made-for-television movies culled from the acclaimed Dragon Ball telefilm library.

Dragon Ball Kai is a high-definition director’s cut of the iconic series that follows the story of Goku and his friends as they battle evil forces throughout the universe to protect their beloved planet earth. As the Dragon Balls use their extraordinary power, new enemies descend upon Goku, leaving him with no way out. In this installment, Gohan, the son of Goku joins the fighting battle and the action is even more vigorous.

“Dragon Ball continues to rank as an evergreen global brand that attracts new generations of viewers all over the world,” said Lucio. “Latin America remains a pivotal marketplace for Dragon Ball Z programming and we look forward to Dragon Ball Kai – the newest version of this perennial series – to launch this year with Cartoon Network Latin America and Televisa.”
