Thinking of Zhu™ friendship campaign launched™

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - August 2011

August 2011 will see ZhuZhu Pets® in the hearts and minds of children across the UK as they download and send a multitude of friendship messages to each other during Thinking of Zhu™ month.

Thinking of Zhu has been created with the long summer school holidays in mind so that kids can keep their friendship bonds intact during the weeks away from each other. During the campaign kids will be able to download from a choice of six electronic e-cards to send to their friends and family completely free of charge. With messages such as “I Love Zhu”, “Thinking of Zhu and “Missing Zhu” they will create the perfect way to tell their friends they are thinking of them, whilst at the same time increasing the brand awareness in a new fun and friendly way.

The multi-platform campaign will be advertised through key girls press together with the kid’s social media site Swapits, where a microsite will be created for messages to be downloaded and sent safely. The campaign will also feature on over 200,000 collector’s posters distributed in girl’s magazines during August whilst parental media sites will be used to encourage mums of younger children to be involved making the activity one for all the family.

Speaking of the campaign Andrea Smith, Character Options brand manager, commented: “Thinking of Zhu will feature some of the most loved characters in the ZhuZhu Pets® collection, from the latest hamsters down to the ZhuZhu Puppies that have proved really popular. We believe that this campaign will give the fans a new way of experiencing the Zhu-niverse™ whilst staying true to the ethos behind ZhuZhu Pets®, which is a fun friendly and forward thinking brand.”

Further commenting, Francesca Lisle from Lisle International Licensing, said; “The Thinking of Zhu campaign is a free for all activity that epitomises the feel good nature of the brand. We are delighted that we can champion friendship in this innovative way and we believe thousands of children will take part and enjoy the activity.”
