Digital specialist AT New Media, licensing agent for the smash-hit Worms™ brand, has announced that news has just been released by developers Team 17 about the latest downloadable content featuring the intrepid invertebrates.

Worms™ is the hugely successful, award-winning video game franchise that boasts millions of fans and players worldwide. Since the first incarnation of the hilarious strategy game was unleashed onto the video-gaming world in 1995, the wriggling warriors have appeared on over 20 gaming platforms and an ever-increasing number of titles has led to sales of approximately 30 million retail copies to date. The Worms™ brand has also been at the forefront of modern distribution trends and has seen sales in excess of 10 million on mobile phone handsets, as well as enjoying huge success on the new digital video-game platforms, with Number 1 hits on Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation® Network, Apple’s App Store, and Steam for PC.

Worms™ Ultimate Mayhem will also be released later in 2011 - this souped-up, re-vamped, high definition reimagining of existing games Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem brings both together in one incredible package and can be accessed via Xbox LIVE, PlayStation®Network, and Steam.
Team 17 has also just released two new expansion packs for the hugely popular Worms™ 2: Armageddon game - the Puzzle Pack and Fort Pack offer fans a host of new challenges and ways of customising their forces and can be downloaded now for PlayStation®3 from the PlayStation®Store.
These new releases will add to the considerable buzz surrounding the Worms™ brand, which AT New Media is set to present to the licensing community at BLE 2011. The agency will be looking to add to a burgeoning merchandise programme, with announcements set to be made soon regarding new deals and products.
