Anime Classic Dragon Ball Into New TV Markets Through Plus Licens

New sales bring anime classic to TV markets like Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Denmark and Lithuania

 

One of the first manga and anime series to make it really big also in international markets, Dragon Ball (as well as the subsequent TV series Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Z) still continues to enjoy high popularity. Further sales of the anime series into Russia and Central and Eastern Europe have now been made by Plus Licens Nordic and Plus Licens Budapest.

The first 26 episodes of Dragon Ball Z will air on 2x2 in Russia beginning September 3 (weekend morning slots).

The first 52 episodes of Dragon Ball Z have also been sold to Viasat Broadcasting UK for airing on Viasat 6 in Hungary, preliminary planned to air on weekdays at 4.30 pm. In the nearby region, 104 episodes of Dragon Ball Z have previously been sold to Tisak d.d. for Croatia (RTL), Serbia (Ultra), Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Hercegovina (Viasat). Tisak is also a licensee for DVDs, confectionary and toys.

Also through Plus Licens, Dragon Ball Z has recently been sold also to LNK TV for Lithuania (the first 291 episodes) and to DR for Denmark (the first 104 episodes).

Furthermore, anime network Animax has signed up for 64 episodes of Dragon Ball GT across Central and Eastern Europe. The deal covers the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova and Slovenia and the series is preliminary planned for a September 2011 launch.
