Germany floored by multi-property deal

Nickelodeon Consumer Products International - October 2011

With Brand Licensing Europe just around the corner, Nickelodeon Consumer Products International and Minnesota-based Starkey Labs have announced they are partnering on a pioneering hearing solutions deal. The license sees SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, and iCarly star on a range of products and materials designed specially for children.

The multi-territory deal runs until December 2013 across key markets including the UK, Germany, France, Colombia and Brazil and covers earmolds used with hearing aids and other components critical to paediatric hearing solutions.

The characters are also the central component to an education campaign for children with hearing loss and hearing care practitioners. They will be distributed through medical channels – including hospitals, paediatric audiologists, hearing aid specialists and specialist retailers.

NCPI, part of Viacom International Media Networks, is launching a raft of licensing opportunities from its Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Comedy Central and MTV brands at BLE, which takes place in London from October 18 to 20.
