It has been announced that CPLG has been appointed as non-exclusive licensing agent for the brand new Rabbids® TV series in the EMEA region, which is set to hit the screen in 2013.
Created by Ubisoft’s® French studios in 2006, the wacky, zany Rabbids have won admirers around the globe with their hilarious and silly video games and viral videos that have attracted more than 41 million fans on YouTube.
This is an extension of an existing deal that sees CPLG representing the original Rabbids brand, as well as Ubisoft hits Just Dance and Imagine, across its network of offices. The new property will also be represented across all CPLG territories, including the UK, with a master toy partner being sought in the first instance and other categories set to follow. |
Ubisoft Motion Pictures will work with Ubisoft’s French studios to create a television series every bit as hilarious, unexpected and preposterous as the Rabbids games that fans already know and love. A broadcasting deal has been struck with Nickelodeon, which will be screening the madcap antics of the Rabbids on its channels worldwide, except in France where France Television has signed a separate deal for the show.
“Rabbids is an enormously popular brand and the TV series will be eagerly anticipated by a huge existing fanbase,” says Steve Manners, Executive Vice President & Director of Entertainment at CPLG, “we are looking to work with partners across a wide range of categories who want to join what will be a significant licensing programme.” |
