Gold for the record BOBmusic – the yellow album
This is the “Hummer”! “BOBmusik – das gelbe Album” (BOBmusic – the yellow album) has been awarded a gold disc in Austria. SpongeBob (dubbing artist Santiago Ziesmer) sings the latest pop music songs with German lyrics on his album "BOBmusik - Das gelbe Album". Shakira’s “Waka Waka” turns to “Lecker Lecker” and Culcha Candela’s “Hammer” turns to “Hummer”. Meanwhile already three singles were released. SpongeBob professions can find a highlight on this album, too: For the first time the famous song “Taubes Nüsschen” has been released in Germany and Austria.
Bringing in his voice and a mix of Pop, RnB, Dance and Folk music, SpongeBob creates a fantastic sound which reaches nowadays BOBhits back to Beethoven. The album was produced by the Beatgees who actually produce more of RnB and Hip Hop music, so they could award the album with a certain groove. The album was released in March by Sony Music in cooperation with the children's channel Nickelodeon. In November there was a special available: Not only a newly created X-MAS edition, but also two new produced songs with a lot of extras, so the CD can hopefully reach a gold status in Germany, too. Furthermore, "BOBmusic - the yellow album" was nominated in the category "License Product of the Year 2011" at the LIMA Licensing Market on Nov, 9th in Munich. |
Stadlbauer distributes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys
During the Brand Licensing Fair in London, Master Toy licensee Playmates has announced their distribution partner for its new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ product line. Playmates has been able to contract ‘Stadlbauer Marketing- und Vertriebs GmbH’ for the purpose of marketing and distributing its new product line across Europe’s German speaking environment. Stadlbauer is convinced of the product theme as well as its toying functionality and expects the property to set a standard in action toys. The first look at the new range of toys will be available on the upcoming Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. |

News regarding prominent live-action series
On October 7th 2011, the first music album ‘Victorious – Music from the hit TV show’ with her songs from the TV series was launched by Sony in Germany. Hit giants like Dr. Luke (P!ink, Katy Perry, Britney Spears) and Shellback (Usher, P!nk, Maroon 5, Adam Lambert) were responsible for the production of the album. The latter produced also Victoria Justice’ single “Beggin‘ On Your Knees”, a pop anthem with catchy hook, that can be compared to the hits of Katy Perry or P!ink. Domestically, Victoria Justice has been able to fill five times the cover page of the German youth magazine ‘BRAVO’. Her follower base consists of roughly 8.5 million fans solely on online based social networking structures and up until now, her official Youtube channel has been able to receive over ten million views. One day prior to the release of her first music album, Paramount Home Entertainment launched the first Big Time Rush DVD titled ‘Big Time Rush- Season 1.1’ containing eleven episodes of the first season with over 4 hour film material to serve the growing fan base demand for video products. The new ‘Star Power’ magazine from Blue Ocean which is surrounded by topics of prominent people and stars is henceforth available in local convenience stores. Numerous posters in XXL, fashion highlights, star quizzes and sweepstakes are designed to top off the overall concept. |
Signing session with Victoria Justice
Singer and actress Victoria Justice is the undisputed prominence of the successful live action series ‘Victorious’ which reaches up 18.3% market share in Germany. The show is broadcasted in over 90 countries and in several major languages worldwide. In the end of October 2011, the rising star Victoria Justice was visiting Germany for her first time in her professional career. In light of a ‘Saturn’ sponsored promotional signing session within the “Europa Center’ in Berlin, Victoria Justice, in combination with her colleague Leon Thomas (actor of Andre in ‘Victorious’), was serving over 3000 fans with autographs and photo shootings such that the initially planned 90 minutes of service needed to be extended to over three hours ensuring that every single fan was able to receive an autograph from their beloved star. “The energy was incredible”, she tweeted afterwards. “Berlin, you brought tears to my eyes.” |

THQ presents SpongeBob video game
On the 18th of November 2011 the new SpongeBob video game for Kinect, for Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS was released from THQ. This time SpongeBob challenges his adventure outside of the water, not in his usual territory under the surface. Players of the game “SpongeBob Squarepants: Surf & Skate Tour” can choose between the characters SpongeBob and Patrick and can overcome high waves and harsh coastal roads on their surfboards. The game offers fans a single-player or multiplayer mode and is the first ever game in which players are able to use the Kinect technology to have skateboard and surf experience in their living room. |
NCP ENLARGES ITS SALES TEAM Since December 1st the Nickelodeon Consumer Products team in Berlin receives support from Victoria Stettnisch. Victoria Stettnisch will be working as the Category Sales Manager who will be in charge of license categories such as Health & Beauty, Stationery, Gift & Novelties and Home & Living in the German speaking territory. In this respect she will have a function to report to Thomas Puchert, the Sales Director Nickelodeon Consumer Products (GSA). Previously, the 36-year-old graduate of Business Administration worked as a Product Manager for school bags and supplementary assortment for Herlitz PBS AG. In addition to that, she is very experienced in the publishing field due to her job at Egmont Ehapa.
CURRENT SURVEY CONDUCTED BY ICONKIDS&YOUTH The new survey results of the Kids License Monitor study has been released in the end of October 2011. As such, SpongBob Squarepants topped the 4-12 years old brand awareness degree with 93% recognition rate. About 75% of the surveyed children admit to favor SpongeBob, which places the character top 3 in the overall children’s popularity scale. This result additionally reflects SpongeBob’s top position in terms of status rank. Despite its success, it is the penguins out of the movie ‘Madagascar’, for which Nickelodeon Consumer Products owns the sole licensing rights for purposes of promotional campaigns, which are placed number one in the popularity scale for licensing themes.
ADULT BRANDS After the massive success of South Park themed T-Shirts, now follows a Beavis and Butt-Head conceptualized shirt and apparel wares promotional campaign. Marked with the beginning of December, fans will be able to buy T-shirts and caps with motives of the two US- cartoon based heroes in H&M stores globally. |
