National Geographic Channel Acquires Last Secrets Of The Third Reich From ZDF Enterprises

ZDF Enterprises - January 2012

National Geographic Channel has acquired the six-part documentary series 'Last Secrets of the Third Reich' from ZDF Enterprises, the sales, distribution and production arm of Germany's ZDF. The series offers new insight and archive material that exposes the contradictions and unknown inner workings of Hitler's Nazi regime, and will premiere in more than 380 million homes and 165 countries later this year.

Produced under the supervision of Guido Knopp and the ZDF Contemporary History Department, 'Last Secrets of the Third Reich' introduces collections of archives that were inaccessible until recently, allowing new understandings of the Third Reich's sinister wieldings. While some claim Hitler was not interested in personal economic gain, he misappropriated patrons' money and died a very wealthy man. Was Field Marshal Rommel, the "Desert Fox," a brilliant strategist who turned against Hitler, or was he a loyal follower until the end? And as one of Hitler's most senior official, Heinrich Himmel was the senior official in charge of conceiving and overseeing the mass murder of European Jews - was he following orders or was he more vehement than even Hitler?
