International licensing and merchandising specialist, Event! Merchandising Ltd, has become the latest high profile organisation to join LIMA, the licensing trade association (www.licensing.org). As a member it will have unrivalled access and discounts at events such as BLE and support via publications, research and educational programmes. Event! develops and markets merchandise for some of the world’s most recognisable brands ranging from blue chip corporates to Big Brother, Sherlock Holmes, TNA Wrestling, Evel Knievel, Live Earth and many music artists. 2012 is a key year for the company, which is celebrating its own 30th anniversary. Not only is it the official ad hoc retailer for the London 2012 Olympics, but it is also the key licensing partner for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant and other major Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the capital. Event! is actively looking for licensees to come on board with its licensing programme for the Jubilee Pageant and help raise money for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Trust. So far, it has already signed up a coin and a publishing licensee as well as souvenirs such as a hand-carved chess set featuring the royal barges, but it is encouraging the licensing community to come up with more ideas. The Pageant is the major event on the Jubilee weekend (Sunday 3 June). Over 1,000 boats and 30,000 participants will be sailing down the Thames, led by the Queen on the Royal Barge. The BBC is broadcasting all day, together with coverage on Sky and ITV and there will be a global audience to rival the Royal Wedding. Millions of people are expected to line the Thames. Jeremy Goldsmith Managing Director of Event! Merchandising, said: “Along with the Olympics, the Jubilee pageant will be a unique opportunity for licensees to be part of a historic celebration which will no doubt become part of the cultural fabric of this country. We are keen to speak to companies who want to become part of this remarkable experience.” He added, “Joining LIMA is a way for us to increase our contact with the licensing community and gives us greater visibility both in the UK and abroad.” Anyone wishing to speak to LIMA about membership should contact Saphia Maxamed, Membership Services Manager on +44 1908 802 863 or by emailing: smaxamed@licensing.org. |
