Yakari & football card games from ASS Altenburger

ASS Altenburger - March 2012

Games with Indian factor
In March 2012, ASS Altenburger launches two card games to the little Sioux onto the German market

  • Double fun with Yakari: A set of Dominoes and a tile placing game hit retail shelves in Germany
  • Adventures with Yakari & friends: Classic Happy Families and cool adventure game since November

For more than 30 years, Yakari, the young Native American boy with an unlimited curiosity and a great respect for nature and all animals, has found his way into the hearts of his young and not-so-young fans. Since the TV show has been regularly airing on German TV, Yakari has been one of the most successful animated characters on KI.KA. “In March 2012 we add two new games to our existing Yakari card games line launched in November 2011,” said Product Manager Gerd Matthes. “In addition to a classic game of Dominoes, we release an appealing puzzle and tile placing game that inspires children not to challenge each other, but play together.” Both games are fit for children aged 4+ and available at a SRP of 6.95 Euros. Already in November 2011, a classic game of Happy Families and an innovative adventure game made their successful market debut in Germany.

Yakari Dominoes
Yakari to Yakari and Rainbow to Rainbow … The Yakari Dominoes is all about emptying your own hand and playing your tiles by extending the line of characters. Easier said than done, as you won’t always have the right cards on hand. “The set of Dominoes is suited for children aged 4+ and will definitely provide hours of play fun,” said Matthes. “The game consists of 36 carefully illustrated cards and follows the traditional rules of Dominoes.” Young and not-so-young Yakari enthusiasts may playfully enter the vast plains of North America and the world of the little Indian boy. The game is available throughout Germany since mid-March at a SRP of 6.95 Euros.

Yakari Tile Placing Game
Especially young children prefer cooperative games to competitive challenges. The brand new Yakari tile placing game by ASS Altenburger draws on the idea of cooperative play, as all children try to complete four jigsaws together. The game consists of four images, each made of eight tiles. And, of course, each image may be pieced together on its own. What is more, for an additional creativity boost, the set comes with a large colour-in poster. The game is available throughout Germany since mid-March at a SRP of 6.95 Euros.

Yakari Happy Families & Adventure Game
Who has the most decisive Indian factor? Even kids aged 4+ love playing Happy Families when they recognize their favourite stars from movie and TV. For almost 30 years Yakari, Little Thunder and his friends enjoy tremendous popularity and now ASS Altenburger combine the beloved characters with traditional play mechanisms. In addition to the classic game of Happy Families you can also use the 32 cards (62x100 mm) to play a game of trumps.

Who dares to accompany Yakari while he goes tracking, boating, or sliding? During the Yakari Adventure Game players have to face eight different challenges. Each player gets a card and tries to be the first to collect all points. Whoever has been able to collect most adventures wins the game. Due to smart and easy-to-understand rules the Adventure Game with its 32 cards promises entertaining play fun for young and not-so-young fans.
