The licensing community is being urged to leap into action and book their tickets to LIMA UK’s Licensing Essentials Course and Spring Fling Networking party, taking place on Thursday 17th May at the five-star Wyndham Grand Hotel in Chelsea Harbour, London. This year over 40 buyers from retailers such as Tesco, John Lewis, Boots, Avon and Sainsbury’s will be attending, representing a wide range of categories including fashion, toys, home, cosmetics and personal care. LIMA’s earlybird discounts end on Monday 30th April and are available to members and non-members booking a ticket for both the Licensing Essentials Course and the Spring Fling event. LIMA Members currently pay £299 + VAT (£350 + VAT after 30th April) and non-members pay £360 + VAT (£400 + VAT after 30th April). Concessions are available for students. Saphia Maxamed, LIMA Membership Services Manager, said: “Linking up with Advanstar’s retail mentoring programme means that we are giving attendees a rare opportunity to network with a large number of influential buyers. It’s not often that you get the chance to meet so many retailers in one day and it could be a golden opportunity for who is trying to persuade stores to work with them.” The Licensing Essentials Course brings together some of the industry’s leading lights to deliver an engaging programme of seminars covering best practice, new trends and essential licensing know-how including legal and financial aspects. The course is suitable for all levels: from complete beginners in licensing to those who want insider knowledge on where the next big trend is coming from. This year’s subjects will include how to tap into the mega-market of India, how children interact with digital and mobile apps and how retailers can best profit from licensing. The evening event will kick off at 5pm with the Legendary Licensing Debate, a lively and provocative panel discussion on licensing, sponsored by ITV Global Studios. The debate features a panel of licensing industry leaders who will take questions from the audience and discuss some of the most pressing issues in licensing today. This year’s panel includes Darran Garnham, Chief Business Development Officer at Mind Candy, Vickie O’Malley, UK Managing Director at CPLG and Jennifer Lawlor, SVP at Zodiak Rights. Call Saphia Maxamed, LIMA Membership Services Manager on +44 1908 802 863 or email smaxamed@licensing.org to reserve an earlybird ticket or register online at www.licensing.org/uk/springfling before 30th April to take advantage of the discounts. |
