Charity returns to BLE as pace of launches, signings and enquiries accelerates

Leading animal welfare charity the RSPCA (within JELC stand E010) is celebrating its second year as an exhibitor at BLE — and it has a lot to celebrate!

The year since BLE 2011 has seen the biggest licensing programme in RSPCA history gain traction in the market supported by a comprehensive new style guide highlighting four stunning new photographic and illustrative styles for licensing partners. The number of new licensees has accelerated and there has been an expansion of the team working on the RSPCA’s successful licensing campaign.

Since the enhanced and expanded licensing campaign was announced in 2011 it has seen the addition of many high-profile new licensees such as Aurora, Sert-MST, Vogue International, WHSmith, Scholastic, Benchmark, Paperlink, Jeego and John Lewis. They join the RSPCA’s already strong stable of partners that includes Rayware (through its Mason Cash range), UK Greetings — Special Editions, Happy Pet, CP Designs and the Noel Tatt Group. The RSPCA is now looking at, or has already signed, further deals in such areas as apparel, greeting cards, giftware, housewares, stationery, downloadable apps and e-cards, publishing, pet food, wild animal food and pet accessories.

The coming months will see even more product launches and announcements as the combination of the new style guide, carefully selected high quality licensing partners and enormous brand awareness bring new partners to the licensing campaign.

RSPCA licensing manager Cathy Snow said, “Since BLE 2011 we’ve had an incredible year. The level of enquiries and the number of exciting new launches has even taken us by surprise — and we fully expect to be kept very busy at BLE 2012. We’re thrilled with the licensee response. But we never forget the philosophy underpinning this campaign: to work with partners who will not only enhance the RSPCA brand but spread its message and, through product sales, make a contribution to funds that allow us to continue helping animals in England and Wales.”
