Space Enterprises Bringing Brace Of Big Brands To BLE 2012

Brand Licensing Europe - September 2012

Space Enterprises will be presenting two major brands at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe show – smash-hit kids property The Hive and evergreen comedy classic Monty Python.

The Hive is the hugely successful animation series produced by Monumental Productions, Lupus Films and DQ Entertainment that follows the fortunes of the happy, friendly and extremely cute Bee family, who live together in Honeybee Hive. Global success has seen the show picked up by ITV in the UK and ABC in Australia, where it is often the most popular kids show across all channels, whilst The Walt Disney Company EMEA broadcasts the show in over 150 countries and is recording continuously high ratings. This has led to a wide range of licensees signing up – Avanquest recently launched interactive games for iPad and iPhone, Mookie Toys has released plush and is also on board as Master Toy, whilst LeapFrog features The Hive content on its best-selling LeapPad children`s learning tablet, and the Leapster games console. Other partners include EMI Publishing, Moonpig, Blues Clothing, Jupiter Toys and Aykroyds TDP.

As one of the biggest comedy brands in the world, Monty Python needs little introduction. The original series’ and the string of hit films that followed have never been more popular - DVDs are selling in huge volumes, whilst the launch of the entire catalogue in HD on iTunes and the creation of an official Python channel on YouTube has led to millions of new fans discovering the classic comedy.

“We are every excited about BLE this year - The Hive is one of the hottest properties on the market and we expect to be dealing with a lot of interest from potential partners during the show,” says Space Director of Licensing Mark Hurry.
