Pegasus: Village wins Deutscher Spiele Preis

Pegasus Spiele - September 2012

Family game by eggertspiele wins a second major award

Winner of the coveted Deutscher Spiele Preises 2012 award is Village, designed by Inka and Markus Brand. After receiving the Kennerspiel des Jahres Award earlier this year, the Deutscher Spiel Preis is their second major award in 2012. Each player takes the reins of a family in a village during the Middle Ages. They sell manufactured goods on the market, set off on adventurous journeys, strive for a career in public office, or rise through the ranks of the Holy Church. The strategic game Village provides ample opportunity, but easy-to-understand and quick-to-learn rules at the same time. Activities take time. If too much time passed by, the character takes the path of all earthly things and is noted down in the village chronicles. Players have to provide for new generations that will continue the work of their ancestors and spread their family’s fame and fortune. It is the integration of the death theme above all, that makes this well-arranged, coherent game so innovative and quite unusual.

Hamburg-based eggertspiele company is responsible for the concept and design while Pegasus Spiele opens up distribution channels. Strengthened by two major awards, the cooperation between eggertspiele and Pegasus Spiel sets the course for future success. At the SPIEL in Essen they will present a special booth in hall 5.02 – not only to provide the opportunity to play the award-winning game, but also to offer the chance to try the upcoming expansion!
