Leading animal charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is delighted to announce new licensees for its growing Brand Licensing programme in the run up to Brand Licensing Europe

Marbel Ltd and Octopus Books Ltd have joined the licence portfolio of the much loved rescue centre. Marbel has taken the licence to produce a range of plush as well as wooden toys whilst Octopus Books will be publishing the “Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Guide to choosing the best dog for you” in 2013. These new partners will join existing licensees which include Ravensburger, Portico, Random House Children’s Books, The Bradford Exchange and Woodmansterne Publications Ltd

The new licences are announced as the Home prepares for the Brand Licensing Europe show which promises to be a busy event for the Home this year. The charity’s profile is at an all-time high following the transmission of the current primetime ITV1 series Paul O Grady: For the Love of Dogs presented by Paul O Grady which has been delighting television audiences with its funny, uplifting, tear-jerking and inspirational stories.

At the BLE show the Home will be showcasing its latest range of licensed products as well as unveiling its exciting and brand new packaging. The Home hopes to attract new licensees for stationery, apparel, home-wares gifts and pets.

Christoph Bettin, Director of Marbel Ltd says: “We are extremely excited to be developing a range of BDCH plush products to help raise the profile of a charity that has such a long history of outstanding commitment to improving the welfare of animals in need”

Lucy McCredie, Licensing Consultant for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home said: “We are delighted to add Marbel and Octopus to our licensing programme. These licence agreement are very important to the Home as royalties from the licenced products will support Battersea in caring for thousands of lost, unwanted, and abandoned dogs and cats every year.”
