‘City of Friends Live’ is a 90-minute musical and theatrical extravaganza written by UK based children’s writer Di Redmond, with the story and concept created by City of Friends creator Carl Christian Hamre. The show features characters and music from the hit TV series that is now broadcast in more than 180 countries around the world.
City of Friends Live is a follow-up to the successful theatre stage shows performed last year to more than 30,000 fans of City of Friends across Norway. The City of Friends stage show also captured the imagination of family audiences and media at premier lifestyle and entertainment destination The Dubai Mall, in Dubai, in May this year, with over 20 performances staged across one week. Carl Christian Hamre, CEO CreaCon Group and Creator of City of Friends said: “City of Friends Live really brings the City of Friends characters and world to life for our young fans. The success of our Live Arena show combined with our recent agreements with Turner for TV and with TSI for toys heralds an exciting new step in the growth of City of Friends! We’re looking forward to bringing the format to other territories in the coming months!” City of Friends is hugely popular in its native homeland of Norway and is the country’s most successful pre-school TV series to be exported internationally. CreaCon is planning future live stage shows in other international markets including the UK, where, this October, City of Friends is celebrating its first anniversary on Channel 5’s milkshake! City of Friends was first broadcast in the Nordic countries in 2010 and is uniquely based on the adventures of a real-life Norway state police officer, CreaCon Founder and CEO Carl Christian Hamre. City of Friends is based on new recruits to the Emergency Services working together to solve problems in their city. CreaCon Group is Norway’s leading independent children’s production company with businesses that span TV production & distribution, licensing, live events, DVD production and distribution, music and digital operations. The CreaCon team will be at Brand Licensing Europe 2012 at stand #F100. |
