m4e - October 2012

MIA AND ME – most successful kid’s show in Germany
The TV premiere of MIA AND ME in Germany was a huge success. During the second run in September an average of nearly 500,000 kids (3-13) watched each episode, and up to 1.2 million viewers in total.
At the same time, MIA AND ME was the most successful kid’s show in German TV (by viewers), achieving fantastic market shares not only with girls (up to 70%), but also with boys (up to 50%).

MIA AND ME: the licensing success
The roll-out of licensed products started in August in Germany with DVDs (Panini kids), storytelling audio CDs (edel), followed by board games & puzzles (Schmidt Spiele) and books (Egmont) in September.
All product sales are over expectations, with DVDs and games jumping to no. 1 positions in their respective sales charts at online seller Amazon. Further product launches in G/A/S and internationally are planned for fall 2012 and will continue in 2013. Toy giant Mattel plans to launch first products in 2014.
The oral care promotion by Unilever with MIA AND ME on their kids products SIGNAL JUNIOR is still running very successfully.

BEYBLADE continuously on air
The boys action brand is the no. 2 toy in the German toy market (seg-ment: action figures & accessories), with battle tops being the no. 1 product within this segment’s top 10.
Hasbro and Nickelodeon will continue their extensive promotion activities while the show will be continuously on air until 2013. It will then be followed by the new season. Hasbro will promote their Christmas high-lights massively on air. Still very successful: the dental care promotion by Unilever. BEYBLADE and MIA AND ME are on their kids products SIGNAL JUNIOR. For January 2013, a marketing cooperation with pharmacy magazine LINDANI & CO. is planned, including a raffle. The magazine is distributed by all 1,200 pharmacy outlets of LINDA.

Kikaninchen on tour in Germany
In more than 40 department stores of GALERIA Kaufhof, little kids could get in touch with Kikaninchen. The promotion tour started with huge success in 2011 and was expanded into 2012 with even more outlets. Some events were visited by more than 1,000 kids!
Several key license partners are going to extend their product lines. Simba Toys launched several new toys and plush Kikaninchen, e.g. a sing & giggle plush. Publishers Carlsen and arsEdition will introduce new books at Frankfurt Book Fair next week. In about 1,500 outlets of Ernsting’s Family, a steadily changing textile range is permanently on shelf.

BABAR & BADOU find toy partner
HUCH! & friends joined the BABAR family lately and will launch a range of innovative educational games and board games for children and families for this classic brand. Nelson Verlag published a storytelling book this summer and will develop an activity book and mini books.

The characters of Babar and his grandson Badou joined 55,000 fans of broadcaster KiKA at its party weekend “KiKA for you!”, held on September 1-2.
