Ship & Duck is a young start-up company based in Manchester (UK), operating globally. Backed by serial entrepreneurs from the entertainment industry, its aim is to make the process of getting new licensed products to market much easier and more creative. In November 2012, it launched its secure online Partner Platform which enables brand owners, creatives and manufacturers to collaborate more openly on new branded products. In a few weeks a dozen partners have signed up, already started developing products and through word of mouth, the concept is quickly gaining traction. 2013 promises to be an exciting year for Ship & Duck. In March, it is also launching a new high-end ecommerce website. This means Ship & Duck will be able to offer a 360 degree value proposition to its partners, from development of new product concepts through to sales and fulfilment, creating healthy revenue streams for all parties involved. Francois Carlot, CEO of Ship & Duck, comments: "We have joined LIMA because it’s the go-to forum for any player looking to engage in the licensing arena. We also wanted to enjoy the networking & intelligence benefits the association is offering." "From our previous experience of building licensing programmes for major gaming brands, we felt that there must be a better and more efficient way to bring products to market - and so Ship & Duck was born!" "We are making it our mission to re-invent the licensing industry by offering a secure, yet open way for brands, creatives and manufacturers to come together, collaborate on projects and spark innovation and creativity. We also want to create a direct connection between brands and their fan bases for them to engage and interact as never before.” Anyone wishing to speak to LIMA about membership should contact Kelvyn Gardner on +44 1908 802 863 or by emailing: kgardner@licensing.org |
