New Rep Agents Create Big Buzz Around Maya

Studio 100 Media - December 2012

Studio 100, the leading European entertainment group, is proud to announce new appointed agents who will fly for its evergreen property Maya, the Bee.

With its universal appeal, Maya has been brought back by Studio 100 with a breath-taking new CGI series (78 x 13’) already aired in France, Benelux and Italy and due to be broadcast worldwide in 2013.

Continuing its growing expansion, Studio 100’s International division next focus will be Turkey, the Middle East and South Korea. Thanks to its high brand-awareness from the 70s, Maya the Bee is a well-known and much-loved property in these countries.

In Turkey, Sinerji has been appointed to secure new business and build a strong licensing program in this fast growing market. Already 6 partners have been signed in the toy and game categories, housewares and publishing with a product release plan scheduled for next year. Özge Balkanoğlu Uygun, Sinerji’s Sales Director, welcomes the deal: Maya is a very well known classic brand with a strong heritage in the market. We see a big business potential since we already have very strong licensees on board”.

East-West Licensing will also develop Maya, the Bee buzz across the Middle-East. A big fan of Maya Classic, Mamdoh Nass, EWL Sales & Marketing Manager, fell for the new CGI series: “The animation and designs are stunning, but stay true to the beloved original. EWL looks forward to being a part of this beautiful program. We are confident kids today will adopt her as their parents once did.” The new CGI series will be aired on Al Jazeera channel next year followed by the first toy product releases on the market.

Also, Joon’s Seok Choi, President of Joon International, newly appointed as rep agent in South Korea, trusts that Maya’s distinctive characteristics and colors will match the South Korean market perfectly and will coincide with current consumer needs.

“We look forward to expanding the scope of Maya brand into these strategic countries and trust that Sinerji, East West Licensing and Joon International are the best partners for us to achieve such ambitious goals” says Marie-Laure Marchand, Director of International Licensing at Studio 100 International.
