Licensees of the world-famous animal charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are preparing to launch new products at the upcoming London Toy Fair and Spring Fair in Birmingham early in 2013.

At Toy Fair, Ravensburger Ltd will be launching two jigsaw puzzles in the Battersea collection – a child’s 100 piece puzzle with imagery especially created by illustrator Jason Chapman as well as an adult 1000 puzzle based on vintage photography of the Home. Benn Bramwell, Marketing Manager at Ravensburger says “We are delighted that we have developed puzzles in conjunction with the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home brand – the charity is part of the UK’s heritage, and we are looking forward to delivering a range that reflects the importance of their work.”

In addition, the Home’s toy licensee Marbel Ltd will be launching a very special Battersea plush range which will consist of different cute and cuddly dogs and cats which represent a selection of breeds that can often be found at the Home. Christoph Bettin, Director of Marbel Ltd says: “We are extremely excited about these special plush characters which will help raise the profile of a charity that has such a long history of outstanding commitment to improving the welfare of animals in need.”

At Spring Fair, Woodmansterne will be launching 6 new greeting cards to the growing everyday Battersea range - all illustrated by Jason Chapman. Following the success of the Christmas 2012 Battersea Card Assortment Box, they are also expanding their Christmas 2013 Battersea range to include a new Assortment Box, a glittered advent calendar, sheet giftwrap and three single cards. Other licensees with Battersea product at Spring Fair will include Portico Designs and Flame Tree.

The new ranges are likely to be very popular following the huge success of the ITV series “For the Love of Dogs” presented by Paul O Grady which will be followed by a one-hour Christmas special broadcast at 6pm on Christmas Day.

Lucy McCredie, Licensing Consultant for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home said: “We are delighted that our new products will be launching at these tremendously important shows and this marks a further step forward in our expanding licencing programme. Brand Licensing is very important to the Home as royalties from sales will support Battersea in its work of caring for thousands of lost, unwanted, and abandoned dogs and cats every year.”
