Teo Jasmin Joins LIMA UK

LIMA UK - December 2012

French household name targeting international and youth markets

French homeware brand, Teo Jasmin (www.teojasmin.com) has become the latest high profile name to join LIMA UK, the licensing trade association (www.licensing.org). As a member of LIMA, it will have access to a significant number of benefits including discounted access to shows and educational events and LIMA’s network of international offices.

Established in 2002, Teo Jasmin is a French company founded by designer Angeline Bailly. Based near Orleans, the company is still family-run and now has 10 employees. The Teo Jasmin brand is a household name in France in the fields of home decoration and fashion accessories. Its products range from cushions to bags, T-shirts to scarves.

Teo Jasmin’s mascot, Teo the bulldog, represents the character of the brand and the company’s values. Launched four years ago, Teo was so successful that the company decided to launch it as an official licence with products such as bed linen, telephone accessories, jigsaw puzzles, lighters and candles. The company is also looking at developing the character, with projects for books, animation and television in the pipeline.

Teo Jasmin also has a number of licences with outside organisations including Disney, DC Comics, Mini and Citroen. It is looking for partners in all fields, particularly those looking to reach children and young adults. The company also has a thriving CSR programme in this area with sponsorships and the creation of schools and educational programmes.

Fabrice Philippe, Public Relations and Licensing Manager, comments: “Teo Jasmin is a fairly new licence and is growing fast internationally. We felt the need to be accompanied and guided and a LIMA membership was an obvious step for us, to benefit from its databases, consulting opportunities and help in organising shows around the world. It is also a seal of approval to belong to LIMA in order to establish ourselves as an active licensor.”
