FremantleMedia Expands French licensees Across Its Exciting TV And Fashion Portfolio

Fremantle Licensing - April 2013

FremantleMedia, one of the leading creators, producers and distributors of television in the world and a leading global licensor of both FremantleMedia-owned and selected third party brands today announces a number of new licensees for its TV and fashion brands in France.

The company is expanding its current range of branded lines in France across its television brands L’Amour est dans le Pré (Farmer Wants a Wife), Miami Ink and LA Ink, and Questions Pour Un Champion (Going For Gold); as well as its fashion brand Rebecca Bonbon.

In Spring this year, a new range of products will launch under the L’Amour est dans le Pré (Farmer Wants A Wife) brand in France. The range will be available in stores across all distribution channels and is aimed at the wedding market, with a particular focus on table decorations. With outdoor and countryside weddings increasingly popular, this range of innovative designs is themed to compliment rural surroundings - a vital part of this brand’s DNA.

FremantleMedia will also launch a new range of products for TV reality brands Miami Ink and LA Ink. Originally from Discovery in the US, French retailer GIFI has signed a direct to retail deal with FremantleMedia to produce a wide range of products bearing some of the show’s most popular tattoo images – these include: tattoo transfers, ashtrays, photo albums, shopping bags, t-shirts, shoe racks, home decoration and bed linen and more across their 400 stores.

Targeting the education market, renowned publishing house Larousse will launch a new Questions Pour Un Champion / Going For Gold “Training Book” in April as part of the extension to its long-term deal with FremantleMedia. Following the release of its "Holiday Special" (kids summer holiday exercise book range) and "Twentieth Century Special” (which focuses on the history of the 20th Century) Arts and Music editions, this new version is targeted at Junior High school students who are preparing for their baccalauréat. The book will test students’ knowledge across multiple categories such as: history, economics, geography, mathematics, philosophy, physics and chemistry. It also includes a number of games to encourage students to have fun while they are learning; these include charades, riddles, true/false games, crosswords, the French games Rebus and Chinese Portraits along with many more activities.

Rebecca Bonbon fever continues to rage in France and feeding the appetite for the adorable French bulldog, created by the original Hello Kitty™ designer Yuko Shimizu, will be a new spring/summer collection of glamorous and girly nighties and pyjamas from Embassy. The existing Rebecca Bonbon range in France includes products from more than 15 licensees creating apparel, footwear, bags, stationery, bedding, mobile covers, luggage and restaurant promotions. Recently signed licensees for the brand include Kid Abord (bags and stationery) and Zifel (luggage), FremantleMedia France is currently looking for a publishing development partner for this brand.

Nathalie Delin, Vice President, Licenses & Diversification FremantleMedia France, said “We are also very excited about our new product ranges in France and expect to see some great success at retail.”
