Cluedo München – Manhunt between Hofbräuhaus and Allianz-Arena

Winning Moves - Oktober 2013

Munich nightclub owner found dead!
Police suspect murder and ask for public assistance!

Munich’s most famous club owner, Paul Birkenhofen, has been found dead at the banks of Isar. The police suspect a crime and ask the public for help! Because the place the body has been found is not the place where the man has been killed. Where in Munich has the murder been committed? Which weapon has been used? And, above all: Who is the murderer? Do you have relevant information?

Crime scene Munich: CLUEDO München is the second German city edition of the popular investigator’s game released by Winning Moves. Now you have the opportunity to go on manhunt between Hofbräuhaus and Allianz-Arena. Because now the world’s most popular investigator’s board game is set in the Bavarian metropolis. On 11 October CLUEDO München has been exclusively launched onto the shelves of Müller department stores in Germany.

The city of the kiss-kiss in-crowd features an exciting – and sometimes dangerous – nightlife. Club owner Paul Birkenhofen has been found dead at the banks of Isar. The police have received anonymous tip-offs about suspicious activities at nine different places and they have interrogated six different suspects. With no result! Now you have to support the law enforcement officials! Go on manhunt in Munich! The nine possible crime scenes are famous Munich locations represented by beautiful photographs on the game board: St. Peter, Allianz Arena, Bissing Palais, Pinakothek, Schloss Nymphenburg, Hofbräuhaus, Alte Börse, Highlight Towers, and Englischer Garten. Where has the Munich nightclub owner been murdered? Which weapon has been used and who is the murder or murderess? The players assume the roles of Munich suspects: society lady Charlotte Porz, journalist Mark Gatow, waitress Rosie Schäfer, football player Kevin Buschinski, ex-child star Gloria Hermann and politician Klaus Heinemann. At the beginning of the game, three cards featuring “crime scene”, “suspect”, and “weapon” are chosen at random and put into a special envelope so that no one can see them. The remainder of the cards are distributed among the players. Following the rules of the traditional CLUEDO, players roll the dice and move along the board from location to location. If you enter a possible crime scene, you suggest a suspect, a weapon, and the location you are in, e.g. Hofbräuhaus. The player to your left must then disprove the suggestion – if he can – by secretly showing you one of the suspected cards. Write down the tips at the included note pad. Bit by bit your own cards and the information from your fellow players add up and you narrow down the actual course of events. But watch out: You should be absolutely sure that you have got all necessary evidence before you make an accusation. Because if you actually make an accusation you have either won the game or made an utter fool of yourself! However, you still have to be faster to arrive at the solution than your fellow players.

Winning Moves spokesman Michael Tschiggerl: “CLUEDO has been one of world’s most popular board games for 64 years. We have now provided the game with the local colour of Munich. It is more authentic for people from Munich to become an investigator and go on manhunt in their own city. Any similarity to persons living in Munich is purely coincidental and not intended. If you know the classic CLUEDO game, you do not have to learn new rules. We will be happy, if the CLUEDO München edition generates the same enthusiastic response that our Monopoly München edition has been able to induce.

CLUEDO München, for 3-6 players aged 8+, SRP: 39.95 Euro, exclusively available at Müller stores since 11 October 2013.
