Leading brand licensing agency unveils new brands that have recently joined its roster
Leading global brand licensing agency and consultancy, Beanstalk, unveiled the selection of new brands that have recently joined its prestigious client roster at Brand Licensing Europe. The announcement comes amidst news of major new license agreements secured by Beanstalk, as well as the launch of a new specialised digital division, Tinderbox.
Beanstalk added the iconic American music brand Fender to its roster of world-class lifestyle brands in May. Beanstalk will work to expand Fender’s licensing footprint in Europe, building on the company’s identity as pioneers of all things music and securing agreements with best-in-class licensing partners to create high quality, music-centric products that reflect consumers’ passion for music and the Fender brand. Potential product categories include apparel, footwear, headwear, eyewear, gifts and collectibles, stationary, consumer electronics and accessories, toys, and home décor.
In the food and beverage area, Beanstalk has recently acquired two new clients: Spanish tapas bar and restaurant chain La Tasca, and authentic American style baking brand The Hummingbird Bakery. Beanstalk is looking to extend the La Tasca brand in key food categories inspired by head chef Antony Bennett’s most popular dishes, and will also be looking for licensing partners in non-food classifications such as cookware, publishing and gift items.
The Hummingbird Bakery has become an authority on American style baking in the UK, as evident in the ever-growing popularity of its five London bakeries as well as the success of its three chart-topping cookbooks, which have collectively sold over one million copies in the UK alone. Beanstalk will work to extend the brand into food and non-food categories, building on the company’s reputation as frontrunners in the UK cupcake and American-style bakery revolution.
In June 2013, Beanstalk announced the official launch of its new digital division Tinderbox, addressing the market need for a brand licensing agency specializing in extending digital properties – from social networks to interactive gaming, and all categories of apps including games, entertainment, and lifestyle. Tinderbox will operate as a division of Beanstalk, led by a dedicated team with expertise in digital properties.
Lisa Reiner, Managing Director of Beanstalk Europe and Asia Pacific, said, “This has been a fantastic year for Beanstalk, both in terms of the range of new clients that we are working with, and from a strategic perspective for the business as we start to grow our new digital division, Tinderbox whose clients include leading tween social network, MovieStarPlanet and entertainment app properties, My Singing Monsters, Doodle Jump and The Beetnuks. Despite a challenging economic environment, our clients’ programmes continue to experience strong demand both at retail and from potential new partners, and we have been very active in securing major licensing agreements around the world in 2013. We are excited about the prospect of building the programmes of La Tasca, Fender and The Hummingbird Bakery, while also expanding our new digital division Tinderbox. Having recognised the need for an agency specialising in new media properties, we are looking forward to further developing the programmes for our existing digital clients and in securing new properties for representation, starting right here at Brand Licensing Europe.”
