Studio 100 Media's "Maya The Bee" Finds a Home On Disney Junior Asia

Studio 100 Media GmbH, the media sales division of the global family entertainment company Studio 100, has finalized a deal with Disney Junior Asia for its new and highly popular CGI series Maya The Bee. Specially designed for kids aged two to seven and their families, Disney Junior is a learning-focused channel that reflects the emotional connection generations of consumers have to Disney storytelling and Disney characters, both classic and contemporary.

 

Produced by Paris based Studio 100 Animation SAS in association with TF1 and ZDF Maya The Bee (78 x 12 mins) is set to premiere on Disney Junior Asia on Wednesday 1st January 2014, at 12.00 hours. The series will air daily at 7:00am and 12:00pm in Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, The Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, The Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Macau.

Targeted at preschoolers and a family audience the series is a modern rejuvenation of the classic brand Maya the Bee which sees Maya and her friends, Flip and Willy break free from their hive to seek adventure in the big wide world steeped with magic and mystery.

With a recognition level of over 90 percent across Europe and a popularity that spans generations Maya the Bee has achieved cult status for over 35 years. The original animated TV series of the same name celebrated its television premiere in Germany in September 1976 and has been broadcast by countless national and international TV stations. The basis for the popular series was the worldwide bestseller by Waldemar Bonsels which was first published in 1912 and has since been translated into 40 languages.

The new CGI series has already been sold into 150 territories worldwide and its international presence continues to grow.
