Significant new brand representations and success with established brands underline the strength of ITVS GE’s portfolio
ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) is celebrating a busy and successful 2013, in which it announced further third party representations, launched its Classic Thunderbirds 50th anniversary plans for 2015 and started the countdown to the new Thunderbirds Are Go! TV series, set to premiere in 2015.

Cut the Rope is now on CITV. Om Nom, the cute, cheeky, candy-munching star of ZeptoLab’s Cut the Rope, has his own specially produced series of animated shorts on CITV as well as on TV channels in France and Spain and YouTube (with 100+ million views to date). Cut the Rope is not just of one of the biggest recent app game success stories with 430 million downloads to date worldwide, but is rapidly developing into a 360° franchise extending across digital games, online content, consumer products, retail partnerships, promotions, TV and a Sony game show. ITVS GE manages European licensing for Cut the Rope, and Master Toy Licensee Vivid has already seen retail success with their collectable figures and plush. Vivid are one of 53 Cut the Rope licensees across Europe and 27 in the UK, and Toy Fair 2014 sees new and extended collections launching further to 2013 success. |
Retro boys’ favourite Digimon returns to UK TV in 2014 with a brand new series. CITV, the UK’s top commercial kids’ channel, will be airing Saban’s brand new Digimon Fusion series from Spring 2014. Master worldwide toy partner Bandai is launching an action toy line including collectibles and Digi-Fusion action figures plus an interactive Digi-Fusion loader at Toy Fair. Retail backing for Digimon is strong following previous brand successes. Comprehensive creative and digital brand support from Saban is in place ahead of ITVS GE’s launches in the UK in the key phase one M & L categories from late Spring 2014.These include gaming and other digital apps; toys and games; dress-up; publishing; apparel; and DVDs. |

A third series of Platinum Films’ Matt Hatter Chronicles launches on CITV in 2014. With a carefully co-ordinated multi-territory consumer products rollout, the schoolboy hero is perfectly positioned to be a major player among global boys’ brands in 2014. The Simba Dickie Group and its UK subsidiary Simba Smoby will launch their Matt Hatter toy range at London Toy Fair and the International Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg ahead of a mid-year UK retail launch and a wider rollout across EMEA in Q4 2014. The toy line includes action figures, role play, remote control and die-cast vehicles, collectibles and playsets. Simba is part of a licensee list that already includes global partners Penguin, Titan, Topps and UK licensees appointed by ITVS GE, including TDP Aykroyd, Character World, Smith & Brooks, Trade Mark Collections, University Games, VMC and Pedigree. |
Disco legends the Village People are set to hit the UK high street with a brand new merchandising programme creatively inspired by a fabulous new designer “look” and a brand approach designed to appeal to multiple generations and demographics. ITVS GE represents the Village People in the UK and Trademark is already signed for fashion apparel. Other key category targets in discussion for 2014 launch include gifts, homewares, stationery, back to school ranges, games, apps and fashion accessories.
ITVS GE is celebrating 50 years of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s iconic programme Thunderbirds in 2015. Plans for this much-loved British series include the launch of 50th anniversary product and limited edition ranges. Each range will be tailored for a number of specific groups, primarily authentic and collectable product for the core 35+ male fans of the original series and fashion-conscious young men. All the ranges will be supported by a number of iconic artwork styles across a variety of product categories as well as a strong marketing and PR strategy that celebrates Thunderbirds heritage and nostalgia. Brand awareness will be further heightened by the arrival in 2015 of the new children’s series Thunderbirds are Go! on ITV and CITV. |
